Star studded curtain raiser for ‘Twisted Families’

Stars from the media industry dazzled at the curtain raiser event of ‘Twisted Families’ motion picture in Auckland last Sunday.

Twisted Families, a romantic comedy film is directed by Devesh Pratap Singh, produced by Dr. Rachel Singh and is the 3rd feature film by Dreamz Productions.

Dreamz Productions started their feature film production with the cross cultural drama ‘Urban Turban’ released in 2014 and a psychological thriller ‘Ek Ka Do Aur Dhoka Ek- the Dark Side of Revenge’ which is yet to be released. Their 3rd production ‘Twisted Families’ is set to hit the theatres soon this year.

Hosted at the Mikano Restaurant & Bar in Judges Bay, Auckland, the events started with a mix and mingle with the guests at the lounge followed by the introduction of the director, producer and the actors. The guests sipped their cocktails and flocked the photo booth corner to take selfies and group pictures.

“It was a great experience working with these young talents, the story is inspired from real life events and that is why it is very special and close to my heart,” said Devesh Singh, the director of the film.

Twisted Families is a love story of a Punjabi boy and a Fijian Indian girl; trouble ensues when the two families meet for their marriage and the difference in their lifestyles create mayhem. The film promises generous dozes of fun and laughter and it has universal appeal across all nations and audiences because of its genre and content.

“It was fun working with the cast; we used to have a lot of fun everyday on the set. I play the role of Tina who is love with Aman (Amit Sharma). I also learnt a lot from Deveshji, he is a wonderful director and the way he narrates the script just gets you into the zone,” added Lucy Russel, the female lead of the film.

The film has entirely been shot in New Zealand and it has been made in a span of 1 year; from script to post production.

“It was a wonderful experience; it is my third work with Dreamz Productions. I play the role of Aman, a young Punjabi boy who falls in love with ‘Tina’ (Lucy Russel). Working with the cast was really fun and it felt like one big family,” mentions Amit Kumar, the male lead of ‘Twisted Families’.

“I like the way Deveshji directs the film, he puts his heart and soul into the project. The actors have done a fantastic job, and the film is going to win the hearts of the audience,” added actor and Executive Producer Rishi Deepak.

After the introduction of the cast and crew the trailer was launched on a big white screen and was applauded by all present there.
