Neill Andrews, the owner of Famous nightclub, continued to defend his racist rant against Indian customers; posted on his Facebook page on the 30th of December.
Dame Susan Devoy, Race Relations Commissioner, has made a strong remark on the Famous owners comment and has asked people to boycott the club.
After removing the posts, he said that, it was a joke and was over the top but continues to believe that young Indian men are a problem. Mr. Andrews believes, he is not the only one and Indian patrons are a problem everywhere.
Ironically, he further says that he is not making a sweeping statement or saying it in general.
After expressing some regret for posting the comment, Mr. Andrews suggested that he will be happy to host an "Indian night", with all Indian customers and DJs – provided the customers pay for their own alcohol.
On December 30th, he had posted the following:
"Just because we don't let groups of creepy Indian rapists into the club doesn’t make us racist, they also don't buy alcohol"
"Probably so they can be sober enough to tie up the sack and lift the body into the back of their hybrid taxi, while wearing oversized leather jackets and sports shoes."
However, Mr. Andrews said that no one was excluded from Famous because of their ethnicity.
The story was picked up by Massive magazine and highlighted by the editor Morgan Browne, which went viral on Facebook from there on.
