In a unique celebration that beautifully blended Indian dance and culture, Simran Chadha’s ‘BollyKathak’ workshop captivated Queenstown’s audience. Held at Te Atamira on October 29, the two-and-a-half-hour dance extravaganza left participants filled with enthusiasm and a newfound appreciation for Indian dance forms.

Simran Chadha, who travelled from Auckland to grace Queenstown Diwali 2023, expressed her delight at the overwhelming response to the workshop.

“The aim of the workshop was to raise awareness about one of India’s classical dance forms kathak and generate interest by combining it with Bollywood songs and popular moves,” she said.

Simran Chadha promised to return for more workshops, saying, “Queenstown is my favourite town, and I’m going to organise workshops once again for the love of Indian dance and culture.”

The free workshop was organised by Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust and resonated with tremendous enthusiasm from both the Indian community and the wider public. The overwhelming response underscores the need for more such events to be organised in the future.
