Auckland police are investigating the unexplained death of a man at an Ellerslie home overnight.
Police were called to the property on Celtic Crescent around 7.58pm, following a report of a man found unresponsive.
Detective Inspector Scott Beard said at this stage, the death was being treated as unexplained.
"Our focus is on establishing the circumstances surrounding the death and supporting the victim's family at this difficult time.
"A scene examination is underway at the address and is expected to take a couple of days.
"Additionally, a scene guard is currently in place and the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area while our enquiries continue."
Police are appealing for any information or sightings of a blue Kia Rio, registration NJN927, which was last seen at the Celtic Crescent address.
People with information were asked to contact Police via 105, quoting file number 231106/8053.
Alternatively, information could be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
