In a grand celebration of cultural heritage and spiritual significance, the recent Annakoot Mahotsav and Gujarati New Year's festivities, combined with Diwali Hariprabodham NZ, unfolded with a cascade of blessings, sumptuous delicacies, and a gathering of distinguished personalities.

Organised by Yogi Divine Society New Zealand Inc. (Hari Prabodham Parivar), the auspicious occasion, held at Mahatma Gandhi Centre in Auckland on October 29, had more than 800 devotees in attendance.

The event saw an impressive lineup of influential leaders and prominent community members, such as Honorary Consul of India in New Zealand Bhav Dhillon and former parliamentarian Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi.

The event showcased more than 800 food items and sweets lovingly prepared by the devout Hariprabodham community members. The aroma of freshly-prepared delicacies filled the air, inviting attendees to savour the flavourful offerings.

The occasion witnessed the presence of revered divine saints P Sasvat Swamiji and P Suyog Swamiji, who graced the event with their divine blessings and spiritual guidance.

Ashok Patel, Personal Secretary to HDHP Prabodhjivandas Swamiji Maharaj, a figure known for his philanthropic endeavours and commitment to youth cultural heritage, added a touch of reverence to the event. His inspirational words resonated with the audience, encouraging them to embrace the values of love, compassion and unity.

Nirav Savaliya, Spokesperson of Yogi Divine Society Nz Inc (Hari Prabodham Parivar), said, “Despite inclement weather and concurrent cultural events throughout Auckland, the event received a spectacular response.

“Such events are pivotal for the Indian community as they provide a platform for cultural expression, learning opportunities for the youth, access to spiritual mentors, and an avenue for the Hari Prabodham Parivar to give back to the community generously.”

Nirav explained the inspiration for the event came from the spiritual master, HH Prabodh Swamiji Maharaj, who initiated a divine movement of Seva Smruti Swadharma and Suhradbhav, which emphasises service, meditation, duty and acceptance through kindness.

Founder of Migrant Careers Support Trust Garry Gupta, who attended the event, said, "It was a humbling experience to sit with hundreds of devotees and volunteers working selflessly to promote peace, spiritual bliss and Indian culture in New Zealand.”

Another guest, Prachi Shah, remarked, "Hariprabodham Parivar's commitment to serving the community through these events is commendable. The event served as a poignant reminder of the values that bind the Indian community together, fostering unity and joy that will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who attended."
