Kiwi-Indian bags top honours at mortgage adviser awards

Receiving an award is unquestionably the ultimate acknowledgement of one's unwavering effort, devotion and determination.

It is a moment of pride for the entire Kiwi-Indian community in New Zealand as mortgage adviser Nathan Miglani has been named the top adviser in South Island, and the second-best adviser in the country at 2023 New Zealand Adviser Awards.

Talking to The Indian Weekender, Miglani, MD and Head of Lending at NZ Mortgages, says, “I'm incredibly thankful to have received these awards. These awards reflect our hard work and dedication to helping our clients achieve financial freedom.

“I want to acknowledge the support of my clients, family, NZ Mortgages whanau, and my networks, as this journey wouldn't have been possible. I'm forever grateful for your trust and belief in me.

“My team and I are committed to helping the Kiwi-Indian community make informed decisions about their finance. As we enter 2024, we are enthusiastic about continuing to assist more clients in achieving their dreams of homeownership and financial prosperity.”

Nathan moved to NZ in 2009  from Chandigarh with no experience in the financial industry, and he recently become the youngest adviser in Australasia to reach the milestone of $1bn in settled loans.

He entered the home lending industry with ANZ Bank. He quickly discovered his affinity and aptitude for the field and transitioned to a dedicated mortgage broker. In 2017, Miglani took a bold step and set up his own franchise within a prominent Australasian network.

In early 2023, he parted ways with the franchise model and founded his independent brokerage, NZ Mortgages, which is available 24/7.

Angela Wanoa and Daniel Kuo, two key members of Nathan’s team, were named top brokers in this year's awards.
