The 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ will be broadcast live in Auckland directly from New Delhi on April 30, 2023.
The High Commission of India in Wellington and NID Foundation are organising the Kiwi-Indian diaspora event that will begin at 3pm at Mahatma Gandhi Centre, Auckland.
This event is free to attend and it will be followed by an early dinner. High Commissioner of India to New Zealand Neeta Bhushan will address the audience.
Among the cultural activities planned to keep guests enthralled will be a live band Anantha Narayanan Carnatic Trio and an Indian classical performance by Sargam School of Music among others. ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is a radio programme Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosts hosts, and is a platform through which the prime minister addresses the nation and shares his thoughts on various topics. It was launched on October 3, 2014, and is broadcast on All India Radio, DD National, and DD News on the last Sunday of every month.
In the programme, the prime minister speaks about various social, economic, and political issues and matters related to national interest and development. It aims to connect with the citizens of India at a personal level.
The Indian government will reportedly issue a special 100-Indian rupee coin to commemorate the iconic episode. The coin is complete with the logo and the title of Modi’s show.
NID Foundation is a social, economic, and political outreach and engagement organisation that works with the community, government, industry, and civil society stakeholders to generate reform-oriented intelligence in domestic and international issues, governance, education, and environmental reforms.
