A woman has died after being found critically injured by emergency services responding to an alleged assault in Grey Lynn on Saturday morning.
In a statement, inspector Peter Raynes said emergency services were called to an address on Cockburn Street at 8.25am.
They discovered a woman there who was critically injured. The woman later died.
A person at the address has been taken into custody and cordons are in place around the scene.
