Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's recent action thriller, 'Jawan,' is rewriting records at both the Indian and global box office. In a remarkable achievement, the film made history in New Zealand by becoming the first Indian film to rank at the number one spot for the entire seven days of its release.

Directed by Atlee, 'Jawan,' starring Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara, had a worldwide theatrical release on September 7th, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The film has been receiving acclaim from both fans and critics alike.

In New Zealand, 'Jawan' not only set records but also ranked at number 1, outperforming Hollywood biggies like 'The Nun 2,' 'The Equalizer 3,' 'Barbie,' and 'Oppenheimer,' as per Comscore and Numero data.

Red Chillies Entertainment had reported that 'Jawan' became the biggest Hindi opener ever, raking in a worldwide gross of Rs 129.6 crore. Surpassing the opening day collection of SRK's 'Pathaan,' which earned Rs 55 crores, 'Jawan' swiftly entered the Rs 250 crore club in just four days, achieving an astounding Rs 71.63 crores in a single day, marking the highest single-day collection for any Hindi film.

The film's remarkable journey continued as it became the fastest to reach the 300-crore milestone in the domestic box office collection. Globally, 'Jawan' shattered records by crossing the Rs 500 crore mark in just four days and, within six days since its release, has already exceeded 600 crore rupees worldwide.

'Jawan' is turning out to be a celebration for Indians- it has given a reason for families to go out to cinemas, meet and get together with friends and other families.

The film is a global release by Yash Raj Films with New Zealand distribution partners Forum Films.

Nikita Kapoor, a Shah Rukh Khan fan who watched the film in Auckland on Sunday, remarked, "We Indians love good entertainment, and Shah Rukh Khan, with his last two releases, has been delivering just that. It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying the film, whistling and making noises as SRK made his entry."

In 'Jawan,' SRK shares the screen with Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, and more, further solidifying the film's status among the highest-grossing Indian films ever.
