The New Zealand Indian Central Association (NZICA) is set to host its Health & Wellbeing Expo on Sunday, 24 November 2024, inviting Aucklanders and beyond to experience a day of health, wellness, and cultural connection. This free event, held at the Mahatma Gandhi Centre from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., is expected to attract over 700 attendees, including visitors from outside Auckland, to engage with local health organisations, businesses, and wellness advocates.
A Day of Health and Community Unity
NZICA, an organisation with a nearly century-long legacy in cultural preservation and community well-being, aims to make this year’s Expo a unique platform for enhancing health knowledge and promoting lifestyle improvements.
The event will begin with a traditional Diya lighting led by Shefali Mehta, accompanied by speeches from prominent guests, including NZICA President Narendra Bhana, former MP Kanwal Jit Singh Bakshi, and Auckland Indian Association President Puspa Lekinwala. Following the speeches, enjoy a Bharatanatyam dance performance by Anuradha School of Dance, followed by the Auckland Indian Association Inc—health & Fitness Group's Bollyrobix showcase.

Well Women and Family Trust: This nurse-led organisation provides cervical screening, sexual health services, and contraception support for women aged 18 to 70. Their booth will offer insights into women’s health and the HPV self-swab test, free for eligible residents and work visa holders.
Organised with a focus on health promotion and community bonding, the NZICA Health & Wellbeing Expo will feature nutritious food from the Auckland Indian Association’s Catering Committee and interactive booths from organisations like TULIP Financial Services, Prana Physiotherapy, Muskaan Care Trust, Surf Life Saving North Region, and more.
