A 43-year-old Wellington man has died in hospital following a critical injury incident in Porirua over the weekend, Stuff has reported.
Emergency services were called to Kotuku Street in Elsdon early Sunday morning, where the man was found severely injured.
Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Middlemiss confirmed the death is being treated as suspicious, though no charges have been laid so far.
“Our condolences are with his family, who we are supporting during this difficult time,” Middlemiss said.
He assured the public that this was an isolated incident and posed no wider risk.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
