Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering after being stabbed by an intruder at his Mumbai home early Thursday morning. Khan underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital and is now out of danger, his team confirmed.

The attack occurred in the upscale Mumbai neighbourhood where Khan resides with his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their two children. Police reported that the actor sustained injuries following a scuffle with an unidentified man who broke into his home shortly after midnight.

“Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery, and doctors are closely monitoring his progress,” read a statement from Khan’s team.

Dr Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital revealed that the actor suffered a significant thoracic spinal cord injury caused by a knife lodged in his spine. "The knife was successfully removed, and spinal fluid leakage was repaired. Additionally, our plastic surgery team treated two deep wounds on his left hand and another on his neck," Dr Dange stated.

Khan's wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, shared an emotional note on Instagram, describing the incident as "an incredibly challenging day for our family." She urged media and paparazzi to respect their privacy. "The relentless speculation and attention are overwhelming and pose a risk to our safety," she said, requesting space for her family to heal.

Khan’s team echoed the sentiment, requesting patience and stating that the matter is under police investigation.

The Bollywood community and fans have poured out messages of support for the actor and his family. More details about the assault are awaited as the investigation continues.
