Police are appealing for information after a person was hit by a car and assaulted in Napier.
Officers were called to the intersection of Latham Street and Bedford Road about 3.25pm on Monday.
Police said the victim was working on a vehicle outside an address, when two cars arrived and multiple people got out.
There was an altercation, then a white vehicle drove into the person.
Police said the victim was assaulted further while on the ground. The person was transported to hospital with serious injuries and waa stable following surgery.
Police want to hear from witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage of a white Japanese manufactured sedan and a silver Ford Mondeo.
