The Consulate General of India, Auckland, now operative at 145 New North Road, Eden Terrace, Auckland 1021, has introduced a comprehensive array of services. The list of services is aimed at streamlining processes and addressing the diverse needs of Indians residing in New Zealand, making their interactions with consular authorities more efficient and convenient.
The Consulate General of India (CGI) in Auckland handles consular services for three regions in New Zealand: Northland (Region 1), Auckland (Region 2), and Waikato (Region 3). Residents of these areas must submit their applications at the CGI Auckland office. For applicants residing in the South Island or outside these regions, all consular service applications must be directed to the High Commission of India in Wellington.
Operating Hours
To ensure timely and hassle-free service, the consulate follows these public working hours:
- Submission of Applications: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
- Public Enquiries (In-Person): 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
- Document Collection: 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm
The Consulate remains closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
Services Provided by CGI Auckland
The consulate currently offers the following services:
1. Passport fresh issue/renewal/emergency certificate
2. Renunciation/cancellation/surrender of Indian citizenship/passport
3. Attestation of documents
4. Affidavit of a parent when applying for a child's passport in India
5. Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
6. Birth certificate (on a passport basis)
7. Registration of birth
8. NRI (Non-Resident Indian) certificate
9. Life certificates for pensioners
10. Death certificates & certificates for transporting mortal remains/ashes to India
11. Liquor permits
Application Process

For passport-related services, including fresh issuance, renewal, surrender, or PCC, applicants must first register with a new email ID at https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/. Ensure you select "New Zealand - Auckland" during the registration process, like shown below.
Applications can be submitted either in person or via post. For in-person submissions, visit the Consulate on any working day between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm.
Fee Payment Details
Applicants can pay service fees either in cash at the Consulate or through bank transfer. The Consulate's Bank of Baroda account details are as follows:
- Account Number: 02-1273-0048610-02
- Note for Bank Transfers: Some banks may require a 15-digit account number. In such cases, exclude a '0' from "-022" to make it 15 digits. The adjusted account number would then be 02-1273-0048610-02.
While making the bank transfer payment, the applicant must ensure the following information is entered in the Particulars, Code and Reference fields for each payment.
