Auckland Airport Has A New International Pick-Up Location
Passengers arriving at Auckland Airport from international flights will soon find their journey to the pick-up zone much shorter. Starting September 10, taxi, rideshare, and Super Shuttle services will operate right next to the international terminal, The New Zealand Herald reported.
The new pick-up area, located at the western end of the terminal, will be just a two-minute walk from the arrivals gate, a significant reduction from the current temporary pick-up zone which has been set up due to ongoing construction. This change is expected to save passengers approximately five minutes of walking time.
The new zone will stretch about 180 meters and feature a covered walkway for added convenience. Scott Tasker, Auckland Airport’s Chief Customer Officer, highlighted the improvement, noting it will greatly benefit passengers by reducing their walk to commercial transport options.
“We appreciate the patience of travellers and transport operators during the past few months as we managed pick-ups from a temporary location,” Tasker said. “We’ve listened to feedback and are pleased to provide a closer pick-up area, which will enhance the travel experience for many.”
The shift to the new pick-up zone comes ahead of schedule, thanks to adjustments in the construction timeline. Tasker added, “Our construction team has worked to advance this new area, making the transition sooner than originally planned. We hope this change will be a positive development for all.”
