Air India Strengthens Australia Network With Fresh Tourism Partnership

Tourism Australia and Air India have joined forces in a new three-year marketing partnership designed to attract more Indian travellers to Australian shores.  

The collaboration comes as Air India continues to expand its network and presence in India, seeking to capitalise on the rising interest of Indian tourists in visiting Australia.  

The agreement focuses on joint marketing efforts to showcase Australia's diverse attractions, from iconic landmarks to unique experiences, aiming to sustain the recent growth in Indian visitor numbers and foster further increases.  


Phillipa Harrison, Managing Director of Tourism Australia, expressed optimism about the collaboration. "Tourism Australia’s agreement with Air India highlights our commitment to strengthening partnerships and exploring new ways to encourage Indian travellers to plan and book an Australian holiday," News18 quoted.  

Andrew Hogg, Executive General Manager for Eastern Markets and Aviation at Tourism Australia, reiterated the goals of the partnership. “We aim to sustain growth in visitor numbers from India to Australia while enhancing travel experiences and connectivity between the two countries," he said.  

The partnership underscores the importance of the Indian market to Australia's tourism sector, with both organisations working to inspire more travellers to choose Australia as their next holiday destination.

Tourism Australia, a government agency, is dedicated to positioning Australia as a premier destination for both leisure and business travel. Its mission is to maximise tourism's economic impact and increase annual overnight spending.  

Operating across 15 key global markets, the agency spearheads demand for Australia’s distinct travel experiences through strategic campaigns.  

Tourism Australia employs a wide range of marketing initiatives, including social media outreach, traditional advertising, public relations, media collaborations, trade shows, consumer promotions, online engagement, and comprehensive market research.
