The inaugural speech was delivered by the esteemed QSM and Olympic gold medalist in hockey, Ramesh Unka Patel. He shared profound insights into his sports journey and underscored the importance of sports for the youth.

A charity auction held during the night raised an impressive $11,870, benefiting Hato Hone St John and St John Fiji. The impact of Ramesh Bhai's words resonated deeply with the audience, especially the young attendees. "Ramesh Bhai was an inspiration to the audience, especially the young. Hopefully, a youngster in the audience will emulate his success one day," remarked Ritesh Raniga, president of the New Zealand Gujarati Sports and Cultural Association, capturing the essence of the evening's inspiration and motivation.
