NZGSCA Grand Awards Night 2024: Celebrating Excellence In Sports
The New Zealand Gujarati Sports and Cultural Association (NZGSCA) proudly hosted the 2024 Grand Awards Night, an event dedicated to honouring outstanding athletes in various sports, including netball, soccer, table tennis, badminton, and T20 cricket.

The evening kicked off with a grand music performance and captivating dance routines, setting a lively tone for the celebration. The inaugural speech was delivered by the esteemed QSM and Olympic gold medalist in hockey, Ramesh Unka Patel. He shared profound insights into his sports journey and underscored the importance of sports for the youth.

The 2024 NZGSCA Grand Awards Night was a remarkable blend of fun, celebration, and recognition of excellence in both sports and community service. The presence of the inspirational Olympic Champion, Ramesh Patel, as the Chief Guest, added a significant highlight to the event.

A charity auction held during the night raised an impressive $11,870, benefiting Hato Hone St John and St John Fiji. The impact of Ramesh Bhai's words resonated deeply with the audience, especially the young attendees. "Ramesh Bhai was an inspiration to the audience, especially the young. Hopefully, a youngster in the audience will emulate his success one day," remarked Ritesh Raniga, president of the New Zealand Gujarati Sports and Cultural Association, capturing the essence of the evening's inspiration and motivation.
