Nathan Miglani, a leading figure in New Zealand’s mortgage industry, has been honoured with the Kiwi-Indian Excellence Award 2025 on 29 March, 2025, at a prestigious ceremony celebrating the contributions of the Kiwi-Indian community.
"I am truly grateful to receive this prestigious award; it means a lot to me," Miglani told The Indian Weekender.
Hosted for the second time by the Canterbury Punjabi Association, the event brought together dignitaries, business leaders, and community members to recognise individuals making a significant impact. Association President Narinder Singh Warraich delivered a keynote address, highlighting how these awards inspire young professionals and support local businesses.
Warraich emphasised that the awards serve as a gateway for the younger generation, motivating them through the achievements of exceptional role models. He underscored the importance of supporting local businesses, mentoring and empowering youth, and recognising the Kiwi-Indian community’s contribution to New Zealand’s economy.

Nathan Miglani’s journey in the financial sector is one of perseverance, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
After arriving in New Zealand over a decade ago, Nathan built his expertise in home and business lending through roles in high street banks and mortgage brokerage firms.In 2017, he took a step by launching his own Loan Market franchise, which quickly grew into an award-winning brokerage known for its customer-centric approach. By 2022, his achievements earned him the title of No.1 Mortgage Adviser in Australasia, alongside his firm being recognised as Top Brokerage in New Zealand.A year later, he rebranded the business as NZ Mortgages, strengthening the company’s ability to serve clients with an enhanced, independent approach.In 2024, he partnered with Squirrel, expanding operations across the South Island to provide wider financial solutions.
“NZ mortgages will leverage all of their (Squirrel’s) technology and be prepared for the future and open banking system, as well," Miglani had shared with The Indian Weekender in an interview last year.
Nathan Miglani stated that the partnership will lead to more innovative mortgage solutions for Kiwis.
"This is about creating something bigger and better for New Zealand’s mortgage industry," he added.
