promises an evening rich in musical heritage and captivating artistry.

New call-to-action

This event, meticulously organised by Shanayaan Arts and CFI Events with the backing of the
Mohan Nadkarni Foundation and the Migrant Heritage Charitable Trust, marks Kale’s first-
ever performance in New Zealand. His arrival has sparked considerable excitement among
music enthusiasts, particularly those who appreciate the nuanced beauty of Indian classical
music. Kale, who has earned a global reputation for his exceptional skills in both classical
and semi-classical music, is expected to deliver a performance that will leave a lasting
impression on all who attend.
Shanayaan Arts’ Hemant Shirsat expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming concert,
emphasising the unique experience that Mahesh Kale brings to his audience. “Attending a
Mahesh Kale concert is more than just listening to music; it’s a captivating experience. He
has a rare ability to connect with his audience through his mastery of classical, semi-
classical, and devotional music. His performances are not just about the music itself but also
about the stories and the context behind each piece, which he shares with the audience in a
way that makes the music come alive.”
Kale will be accompanied by a group of highly skilled musicians from India, further
enhancing the richness of the musical experience. The evening’s programme will feature an
eclectic mix of Bhajans, Abhangas, Natyasangeet, and Thumris, showcasing Kale’s versatility
and his deep understanding of the various forms of Indian classical and semi-classical
musical genres. These genres, each with its own distinct style and emotional depth, will
offer the audience a comprehensive journey through India’s rich musical traditions.
The response to the concert has been overwhelming, with ticket sales reflecting the broad
appeal of Mahesh Kale’s music. Shirsat noted that the enthusiasm extends beyond the
Marathi community, with many others eager to witness Kale’s performance. “The response
has been great from not only the Marathi community but also from other communities who
are fans of Mahesh Kale. With only a few tickets remaining, I would encourage everyone to
get theirs soon.”
CFI Events’ Ram Iyer says, “It’s his maiden trip to New Zealand and he has mentioned in his
promo that firsts are always special.”
