Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a global spiritual leader who has positively impacted millions worldwide, is set to make a rare visit to Aotearoa, New Zealand. He will host a public event on October 24th at Auckland’s Aotea Centre.

For one night , audiences will have the unique opportunity to hear Gurudev share his profound insights, wisdom, and experiences from his lifelong dedication to serving the global community. Gurudev has addressed the United Nations, the European Parliament, the World Economic Forum, and leading American universities, including Harvard, Stanford, Yale, and Georgetown. His efforts have earned him 38 governmental awards, including the highest civilian honours in Colombia, Mongolia, Paraguay, and India, as well as 21 honorary doctorates for his humanitarian and conflict resolution work.

Renowned for his ability to simplify life’s most complex challenges into relatable, everyday truths, Gurudev’s teachings foster a deep sense of peace and understanding that transcends mere intellectual discourse, offering a profound sense of serenity and joy.

In 1981, Gurudev founded the Art of Living, a movement that now spans 180 countries. He describes it as a philosophy for living life to its fullest, a movement rather than an organization. “Its core value is to find peace within oneself and to unite people across cultures, traditions, religions, and nationalities, reminding us that we all share a common goal: to uplift human life everywhere,” says Gurudev.

The Art of Living’s programmes, which include breathwork and meditation practices, have provided comfort and support to many New Zealanders during challenging times, such as the Christchurch earthquakes.

“Gurudev’s message of inspiration and peace continues to resonate with people around the world. We are incredibly fortunate to welcome him to New Zealand at a time when many are grappling with the pressures of modern life, global climate challenges, economic recession, cost of living crises, and the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. His visit couldn’t be more timely, and we invite the public to experience his wisdom firsthand,” says Andrew Melville, National Teacher Coordinator for Art of Living New Zealand.

Gurudev follows in the footsteps of leaders like Gandhi, offering a vision of global peace and unity. Opportunities to hear from such global leaders in Aotearoa are rare, making this event a must-attend. Participants can expect to leave feeling inspired, uplifted, and potentially transformed.
