Free Health Checks, Fitness, & Screenings: NZICA Expo For Community Well Being

The New Zealand Indian Central Association (NZICA) Health & Wellbeing Expo invites the community at large to experience a unique event, supporting health, well being, and cultural unity across Auckland and beyond.

For nearly a century, the NZICA has championed cultural preservation, health and well-being. This year, it proudly presents the "NZICA Health & Wellbeing Expo," a community-focused event gathering health organisations, businesses, and wellness advocates under one roof. Expected to attract over 700 attendees and more, including some from outside Auckland, this free event promises a wide-ranging programme aimed at enhancing knowledge and promoting healthy lifestyles.

The Expo’s opening ceremony will feature a traditional Diya lighting, led by Shefali Mehta, with notable attendees including Minister of Health Dr. Shane Reti, NZICA President Mr. Narendra Bhana, Indian Consul Madan Mohan Sethi, and former MP Kanwal Jit Singh Bakshi, each addressing the audience with a brief speech.

Programme Highlights: Auckland Indian Association’s Catering Committee will provide nutritious treats at the food stalls, complementing the event’s health focus.

TULIP Financial Services Ltd will promote mental health awareness and host a lucky draw with prizes.The Asian Network Inc. and partners Heart Foundation and Prostate Cancer Foundation will offer free health checks.


Prana Physiotherapy & Wellness Centre will conduct knee assessments and provide guidance on pain management, balance screening for seniors, strength testing, and orthotic support.


Muskaan Care Trust NZ (Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Aotearoa, TASCA NZ) will provide free diabetes and thalassemia screenings and run workshops on diabetes management and thalassemia prevention.



NZ Blood Service will offer "What's My Type" blood type checks.Drowning Prevention Auckland will share water safety education, working with families, schools,
                             and workplaces. 


Surf Life Saving North Region
will demonstrate lifeguard rescue techniques.
National Bowel Screening Programme will educate attendees about free screenings for those aged 60-74 and distribute test kits.
The event will also feature yoga and fitness demonstrations, including a Bollyrobix-Pump session by Auckland Indian Association Inc.'s Health & Fitness Group.
