Auckland is alive with holiday magic this festive season, thanks to Auckland Council and its Local Boards. From shimmering lights to creative workshops, the city is brimming with activities for everyone to enjoy.
Kick off the celebrations with Manurewa Christmas in the Park on December 7, from 3pm to 7pm at Mountfort Park, Dr Pickering Ave. Hosted by the Manurewa Local Board, this family-friendly event promises live music and free activities galore. Enjoy bouncy castles, a petting farm, a rock climbing wall, photo booths, crafts, and more. A variety of food stalls will be on-site to keep everyone fueled for the fun.
Earlier that day, Christmas cheer and festive fun will come to Henderson. The Henderson Christmas Festival, organised by the Henderson-Massey Local Board, starts with a parade run by Te Whānau o Waipareira at 11am, followed by the festival at Henderson Park from 12pm to 4pm. This free event features market stalls, free children’s activities, live performances, and Santa’s Grotto.
New this year, the vibrant parade will add extra excitement to the celebration. Designed as a family-friendly event, the festival is smoke-free, zero-waste, and alcohol-free, making it a joyful day for everyone.
On December 8, the festive season continues at Carols at the Kings from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Three Kings Reserve. Celebrate Christmas in Three Kings with this free event for the entire whānau. It’s a family-friendly Christmas celebration featuring food trucks, Santa’s grotto, performances by local schools, and much more. Take a picnic or enjoy snacks from the food trucks on offer.
