Vaisakhi Mela 2025: A Celebration Of Culture, Dance, & Diversity For Women

A vibrant night of culture, dance, and celebration awaits as the Woman Care Trust (WCT) gears up to host the highly anticipated Vaisakhi Mela 2025 – Ladies Only event! Scheduled for 5th April 2025 at the Due Drop Events Centre, this grand festivity promises an evening packed with entertainment, shopping, and community spirit. With a ticket price of just $10 (kids under 5 enter free), this multicultural extravaganza is open to all women, embracing diversity in its true essence.
Expect a live DJ spinning the best of Hindi and Punjabi music, alongside exhilarating performances, including Gidha, Bhangra, and Tribal Belly Dance. With food, clothing, and jewellery stalls adding to the charm, the event is set to be an unforgettable experience. The organisers anticipate an incredible turnout of around 2,500 women for this year’s celebration.
A Look Back at Vaisakhi Mela 2024
This year’s Vaisakhi Mela, held on 30th March 2024, proved to be a resounding success. "It was our biggest event of the year, bringing together women from different backgrounds to celebrate, learn, and enjoy a night of cultural unity," the organisers shared. The Due Drop Events Centre in Manukau was packed to capacity as over 2,000 women came together for an evening of non-stop entertainment.
The event featured multicultural performances from local groups, encouraging community participation and fostering connections. Attendees enjoyed a variety of attractions, including delicious food stalls, a photobooth, raffles, giveaways, and an energetic DJ booth. The night ended with the hall transforming into a dance floor, where women danced their hearts out in celebration.

The event brought together women from various cultural backgrounds, including Punjabi, Gujarati, South Indian, Muslim, Russian, Kiwi, Islander, Chinese, Thai, Hindu, Fijian, and European communities. "This event is all about unity – bringing different cultures together to experience a festival that is celebrated worldwide," the organisers emphasised.
