The Consulate General of India in Auckland will move to its permanent office at Queen Street in Auckland CBD next month.
The consulate will cease operations at its temporary office at Mahatma Gandhi Centre on February 28, 2025. From March 3, officials will begin serving applicants from the new office at SAP Tower, 151 Queen Street, Auckland.
The staff will be working temporarily from Level 13 in the SAP tower till permanent official fit-outs are ready for the 14th-floor office in the same building.
The change of the location from Mahatma Gandhi Centre to Queen Street does not affect the services rendered by the Consulate, and all the application processes will remain unchanged.
The moving out of the Consulate is happening in phases to ensure smooth operations and will not affect the services the Indian Consulate has to offer to the Indian diaspora in Auckland.
Services till then will continue efficiently from Mahatma Gandhi Centre till Friday in full capacity, as before.
Earlier this month, the Consul General of India, Dr Madan Mohan Sethi and Consul Sanjeev Kumar announced the office aims to streamline consular processes and cater to the diverse needs of Indians in New Zealand, ensuring more efficient and convenient interactions with consular authorities.
They also encouraged applicants to book appointments online at cgiauckland.gov.in for prompt services.
Two key services—OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) and visa processing—are expected to be introduced soon.
Applications can be submitted either in person or via post. For in-person submissions, visit the Consulate after booking an online appointment only.
Fee Payment Details
Applicants can pay service fees either in cash at the Consulate or through bank transfer. The Consulate's Bank of Baroda account details are as follows:

- Note for Bank Transfers: Some banks may require a 15-digit account number. In such cases, exclude a '0' from "-002" to make it 15 digits. The adjusted account number would then be 02-1273-0048610-02.
