Art lovers, mark your calendars! The Blockhouse Bay Community Artists Group is bringing a vibrant splash of creativity to town with the B’Bay Art Expo 2025. Taking place on Saturday, May 17, at the Baptist Church, 504 Blockhouse Bay Road, this one-day event will be open to the public from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
For Mutu Cooray, a seasoned teacher and artist, this expo is more than just an event—it’s a milestone. “Art is the stored honey of the human soul,” he says, reflecting on his journey of mentoring budding artists in Blockhouse Bay since 2023.
Expect a feast for the eyes, with over 100 unique artworks on display, crafted by six passionate artists. From bold strokes to delicate details, the exhibition will showcase a mix of styles, themes, and techniques, giving visitors a chance to explore the many faces of contemporary art.
Beyond admiring the artworks, visitors can buy their favourite pieces, supporting both the artists and future events. There’s more—a live painting session will let guests get hands-on with creativity, while those keen to explore their artistic side can learn more about art supplies and techniques.
A perfect outing for families, art lovers, and curious minds alike, the B’Bay Art Expo promises a day of inspiration and engagement. Entry is $5 for adults, while children can attend for free.
