Auckland Sri Ganesh Temple To Host Ganesha Chaturthi 2024

The Auckland Sri Ganesh Temple is gearing up for a grand celebration of Ganesha Chaturthi 2024, one of the most important Hindu festivals, which honours the birth of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom and prosperity. The event will take place on Saturday, 07 September 2024, from 4:30 AM to 10:00 PM at the Auckland Sri Ganesh Temple.

The temple invites all devotees and well-wishers to participate in a day filled with rituals, prayers, and community spirit. The schedule includes an array of spiritual activities, beginning with the temple opening at 4:30 AM, followed by special poojas, abhishekams, and homams throughout the day.

Event Highlights:

  • Morning Poojas (5:00 AM - 7:30 AM): The day will start with the Asta Dravya Sahitha Moola Mantra Homam, Vigneswara Pooja, Puniyaha Vachanam, Dravya Abhishekam, and Special Arathi, blessing attendees with divine energy and peace. A breakfast prasadam will be served at 7:45 AM.

  • Mid-Morning Poojas (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM): The spiritual activities will continue with the 108 Sankha Pooja and the Uchikala Pooja, concluding with the Maha Deeparathanai, a traditional offering of light to the deity.

  • Evening Program (5:30 PM - 8:30 PM): The evening will feature the 108 Kalasabishekam and Atharvashirsha Homam, culminating in a grand procession (Tiruveethi Ula), which will see Lord Ganesha paraded around the temple grounds in a colourful and vibrant display of devotion.

Prasadam will be distributed to all attendees throughout the day, and the temple encourages the community to come together, partake in the rituals, and seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha during this auspicious occasion.

10-Day Special Event: In addition to the Ganesha Chaturthi celebration, the temple will also host a 10-day special event from 08 September to 17 September 2024, featuring daily special pooja abhishekams and processions to continue the festivities and devotion.
