Auckland Sri Ganesh Temple Hosts Ganesh Chaturthi

Auckland, New Zealand – The Auckland Sri Ganesh Temple was abuzz with devotion and festivity on Saturday, 7 September 2024, as it celebrated Ganesha Chaturthi 2024. Over 1,500 devotees gathered at the temple to honour Lord Ganesha's birth with a day filled with prayers, special poojas, and vibrant processions.

 

The celebrations kicked off early at 4:30 AM with the Asta Dravya Sahitha Moola Mantra Homam, setting the tone for a day of sacred rituals. The temple’s main events included the 108 Kalasabishekam and a grand Tiruveethi Ula, or procession, which drew significant participation from the community. Both morning and evening programs saw devotees engaging in various ceremonies, while prasadam was served throughout the day.

For those who could not attend in person, the temple's official Facebook page provided a live broadcast, reaching nearly 25,000 viewers from across New Zealand and around the globe. The online stream allowed followers to partake in the day’s sacred moments from afar.

The Auckland Sri Ganesh Temple expressed gratitude for the tremendous support and involvement from both local and international devotees. The success of the event was attributed to the collective devotion and enthusiasm of the community.

Looking ahead, the temple will continue its celebration with a 10-day special pooja abhishekam and processions from 8 to 17 September 2024. Everyone is welcome to participate in these upcoming events and seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings.
