Rides, Face Painting & More: Day Out With Thomas & Friends At Glenbrook

Beyond the train rides, the event promises a range of Thomas-themed activities

Little train enthusiasts and their families are in for a treat as Day Out With Thomas rolls into Glenbrook Vintage Railway. In an age of sleek electric trains and digital entertainment, this event keeps the charm of classic locomotives alive, bringing the world of Thomas & Friends to life with train rides, themed activities, and fun for all ages.

For one special weekend, Thomas the Tank Engine will be giving rides in his Troublesome Trucks, with his friends Rusty and Terence making an appearance too. Overseeing the day’s adventures, none other than Sir Topham Hatt will be on hand to greet visitors and ensure everything runs smoothly.

A Full Steam Ahead Experience

Beyond the train rides, the event promises a range of Thomas-themed activities, all included with the Event Pass. Families can enjoy face painting, storytelling sessions, a bouncy castle, and other interactive fun. Of course, no visit would be complete without a photo alongside Thomas himself—or a chat with Sir Topham Hatt.

Kashish

For those looking to take home a souvenir, a variety of Thomas & Friends merchandise will be available. Hot and cold food options will also be on sale to keep everyone fuelled up for the adventure.

Hop on Board

The highlight of the day is a 12km round-trip steam train ride from Glenbrook to Fernleigh, departing every 30 minutes. The journey includes a brief stop at the workshop engine display, offering a behind-the-scenes look at these magnificent heritage locomotives.

Thomas will also be running short rides throughout the day on a dedicated siding. Simply follow the signs, join the queue, and enjoy a quick trundle with the beloved blue engine.
