Kili Paul, an internet star, was honoured by the Indian High Commission in Tanzania on Monday. The Tanzanian content producer is well-known on Instagram and other social media platforms for lip-syncing popular Bollywood tunes.
On Twitter, the Indian High Commission announced a "special visitor" who had "earned millions of hearts in India."
Kili Paul has almost 2 million Instagram followers. He is followed by many Indian actors, including Ayushmann Khurrana, Gul Panag, and Richa Chadha.
Kili Paul also shows off his dance talents in the videos, in addition to lip-syncing to iconic Hindi cinema songs. Kili Paul's video 'Raatan Lambiyan' from the film Shershaah, in which his sister Neema also appeared, was especially well received by the internet.
Kili Paul has received praise on social media for upholding his culture and broadcasting films in his traditional attire.
Users such as Keshav Jha commended the content producer on his achievement. "India did a fantastic job greeting and paying tribute to this hero and strong supporter of India's soft power in Tanzania." In his tweet, Jha stated, "We should and Missions should aggressively engage these soft power fighters for the development of India as well as the welfare of the world."
