13B well worth watching

Just when we thought that to make a really good movie we have to look to Hollywood or the South for inspiration, 13B makes us open our heart and mind to the brilliant talent we have in Amchi Mumbai.

The story is about a joint family who move into the apartment (no points for guessing) 13B, on the 13th floor of a building. All through the movie, you'll see the renowned Indian tradition of joint family. And unlike many remember, it can also be a joy to be a part of. The relationship between the mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law is really enticing because of the choice of TV soaps they enjoy with each other.

Unlike most horror movies where you have ghosts popping out of the closets or jumping out  of the dark rooms, the jitters start here when the some weird coincidences start to happen with the family and no one but the younger son of the family, Manohar, (Madhavan) ends up to be the only one who is able to co-relate the family's favorite TV soap Sab Khariyat with the life of the family itself.

The real mystery is how Manohar finds out about the coincidences and goes about getting to the bottom of it to make the happy ending.

Well treated by the director, and an odd mistake is well hidden if you don't really pay attention to detail.

Brilliant work with the pen and camera make the entire movie a pleasure to watch. If you haven't already seen it, well you know what to do now on your next day off with the family.

Rating: On my movie meter I'd be more than happy to give it 3.5 stars out of the five.
